Steve has always been a kind, generous soul, though once he turned super, he got a bit more strict. He can never say no to a person in need, and this trait has gotten him into trouble countless times. He's a real stubborn, close-minded person, but if you can push past that shell, he's a huge sweetheart. He's a sucker for anything old-fashioned, especially music. He's finally fully adjusted to living in the present day, though he often finds himself missing his own time period, particularly the people. Although he would never admit it to anyone, he still has nightmares about World War II frequently. He has a recurring dream that consists of losing his partner in crime, Bucky. He can't talk to anyone in the present day about these topics, so he gets out his emotions by jogging or hitting the gym. Steve is a highly determined guy and will do anything he can to help out in the circumstances he's faced with today.

Steve was transformed into Captain America when he was thrown into a scientific experiment. Even though the process has tried to be replicated throughout history, Steve was the most successful subject. He fought in World War II for America until he fell into the ocean and was frozen for about 80 years. When he was thawed out, he was almost immediately recruited to be a part of the Avengers. He soon rose up to obtain a sort of leadership position among the group and stuck with them no matter how many people joined and left. During the war, he was the only person to realize that the heroes and villains shouldn't have been fighting each other. There was a third force involved, and that was who he was after. Followed by Loki, he located the machine that held every source of power known to man and watched as it exploded before his eyes. He was rendered unconscious and found himself waking up hours later on a demolished city street, somehow unscathed.
